2017 was awesome and awful in many different ways. Regardless, one of the decisions I made for myself was to be more positive this year. So my hobby on twitter has partially been to block every. hateful. soul. that shows up on my timeline.

Credit to the owner of that tweet, user cbxagency who has been deactivated hopefully from all internet for the rest of her life. She really coming at ARMY’s telling them to be respectful with such words? This person needs some therapy, I’m not even joking.

The war that broke out this morning was due to some k-ARMYs misinterpretation of Baekhyun’s (EXO) words. It later took such proportions, some people were assuming Baekhyun told a fan that having a depression isn’t a real problem ?? and Baekhyun ended up apologizing on his instagram – for something he didn’t do because he really didn’t do anything wrong.

And after Baek’s heartfelt message, EXO-Ls were triggered, and so on…

I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION

At this point I might just contact Jackie Chan myself…….

It might be a little weird that I’m only approaching this matter now, but the thing is, I’ve been waiting for about a year for an actual announcement. Let’s make a recap, in case some of you might not know what the hell I’m talking about.

JJCC, the first idol group produced under Jackie Chan Group Korea (or whatever the hell the name of the label is) has had some up and downs in the past year. Their last comebacks weren’t particularly successful but the group seems to be doing much better internationally, in Japan for example – kind of what happens with MYNAME.

While this was going on last year, Prince Mak – or Henry, as I like to call him because I honestly detest that stage name – was diagnosed with tympanitis while in Australia (where he’s from) and then decided to stay in order to have it treated. The thing is, there has been no update on his status. I mean, we do get updated through his social media so we know what he’s up to, but where does he stand in JJCC at this point? Does he stand at all? I believe not, in fact, everyone believes not since he has been removed from JJCC’s website where they now refer to them as a 6-member group. He is also considered an ex-member in several websites such as Wikipedia.

This is where I get extremly upset. Why do labels feel the need to drag on this kind of situations? I remember well, the same happened when Tao injured his leg and was on hiatus, only for the so-called hiatus to become an eternity, having it taken SM about 3 or 4 months to officially announce he was no longer a member, when everyone else was expecting that already. As a fan, I feel wronged and super frustrated. I do not need to know what is going on on their personal life, but the status of his career? I think we have the right to know that. Jackie Chan Group Korea should announce something regarding this already, this is becoming too frustrating to bear.

UPDATE: Short before I posted this, I had left a comment on kpopinfo114’s profile for JJCC as I noticed they mantained Henry as a member. My comment said “I believe Prince Mak has left the group… Though there was no official announcement from their label, his photo and profile have been removed from their official website and he has been busy with activities in China, it’s highly unlikely that he will return. He had been on hiatus due to tympanitis.” I was then informed that, even though that’s most likely what happened, there are also rumors that he will still be joining the group on their chinese promotions. Adding that to the absense of an official statement of his departure, it becomes, indeed, impossible to determinate whether he has left or not.

It still doesn’t make full sense though because, again, he was removed from the official website and they’re not counting him as a member when they refer to JJCC as a 6-member group, even if he’ll only promote in China. Henry Lau and Zhou Mi also only promote with SuJu in China, but don’t they still count as members?

I went to dig this up a little more and FINALLY GOT TO A CONCLUSION

Henry STILL IS a part of JJCC, however, after his hiatus, members carried on with new promotions not only in Korea but also in Japan. After his recovery, it was complicated to suddenly add him to current promotions. As you might imagine, every thing from shows to photoshoots and other events are meticulously planned in advance so they probably excluded Henry from these because nobody knew when he would be ok to return.

To say he was “excluded” might sound a little rude but it’s not like he was forced to stay in China at home while the other members went around in their activities. Henry was allowed to have his own schedule and persue his solo activities in China, that’s where everyone got confused. But worry not, Henry is still a part of JJCC and will join the members after they finish their activities in Japan!

WHAT EVEN IS GOING ON

Talk about a hot freaking fraken crusty god damn ugly mess? That’s Yang Hyun Suk and his incredible skill to manage artists!

Yall I was hella professional on my 2NE1 post but on this one i don’t even care imma get all emotional and shit cos this god damn company managed to fuck up one of the most innocent pure and unprotected groups in the K-Pop industry – WINNER

I’m not even going to start with the blah blah blah it has been announced that Nam Taehyun has lefTYDSGFD I CANT EVEN SAY IT

So, for who doesn’t know, Taehyun had been taking some time off WINNER’s activities in order to take care of his mental health, with which, I ENHANCE, he has been struggling with SINCE TRAINEE DAYS

Once again, WE, FANS, were disappointed – not at Taehyun, at YG – because it meant that ONCE AGAIN WINNER’s activities were getting postponed. Adding up to worrying about Taehyun’s state, this was when we began entering hell without even knowing.

Recently I had frequently thought about Taehyun and wondered how his recovery was developing. He often updated fans on Instagram and he seemed to be enjoying himself, all of us understood that as signs that he was getting better and that, maybe, his hiatus would be coming to an end soon. I’m upset because I, absolutely, did not foresee this. It’s always a bad sign when members decide to take an hiatus but I was so sure he was going to come back. I couldn’t believe myself when I found out he had left. I don’t care if this sounds cheesy but I nearly teared up.

How much does it take for one to make a decision like this while on hiatus? He was taking time off, yet he kept thinking about how he couldn’t endure it anymore? This breaks my heart. Yall, all he wanted was to sing, why was it so hard for YG to make that happen? WINNER didn’t god damn go through years of training and that hell of survival show to be treated like this. I’ve been trying not bring iKON into this all along because those boys are in NO WAY at fault here but the truth is bitch ass Yang Hyun Suk has favored iKON since the beginning. Even after WINNER won that stupid ass show the guy gathered them and locked them away in the dungeon only to channel all his attention to iKON’s debut AND ITS JUST NOT FREAKING FAIR

After all that has happened with YG Entertainment artists, I’m truly scared to see where this is going because I no longer know what to expect. From what we have seen, their information isn’t trustworthy and their artists suffer from terrible mismanagement.

I deeply wish Taehyun the best of luck for the future, I’m sad things turned out like this but I hope he chose what makes him happier and that, in the future, he goes back to do amazing music like he did with WINNER.

To the members of WINNER, I hope they manage to get through this terrible phase, that they stick together in order to support each other because that’s all they got right now in a company like YG.

Eventually, it all comes to an end…

Like most of you, I too still don’t know how to express myself on this matter. It’s not like this was unexpected after Minzy’s departure earlier this year, we just didn’t know when it was going to happen and how would the fandom deal with it.

If you didn’t read my post regarding Minzy’s departure, here’s the key element to understanding my opinion on this issue – I don’t stan 2ne1. However, that doesn’t mean I turn a blind eye when recognizing 2ne1’s success and talent. Yeah, their music wasn’t my thing, but I acknowledge how talented the four of them are, how hard they worked to get where they are today. Only few succeed in acheiving what they acheived.

This is extremly frustrating, any K-Pop insider knows what lead to this miserable ending – YG Entertainment’s terrible management of their artists. YG has been producing some of the most renowned artists in the K-Pop industry, including PSY, who will remain as a legend for all eternity thanks to his song Gangnam Style – the most popular music video ever – and literally brought the korean pop music industry to a whole new level. Saying they train their artists to be the best is one thing, but saying they’re a good company in terms of support is another.

At this point, we’ve all realized that the “YG Family” is kind of lacking the Family concept as all they really do is boss their artists around and shove them inside the basement when they don’t need them. No wonder they’re all so disciplined, who would want to act freely when you live your life in such environment?

Another thing that is slightly bothering me, and not many people have mentioned, is that it’s becoming quite evident that when labels start to sleep on their own artists and give this one person a special focus, things will quickly take a turn to the ugly side. I mean, haven’t we gone through this before? It wasn’t even that long ago… 4Minute? Is it that weird to compare HyunA to CL? Not in terms of style, personality or popularity. But the situation is pretty similar. An extremly talented group, successful aswell, containing that one member that for a set of reasons appeals to the fans more than the others and quickly begins to stand out, overshadowing the rest of the group; eventually the atmosphere among the members becomes heavy and before we can tell, nobody is renewing contracts and each has chose their path.

I’m not trying to blame this on CL or HyunA or whichever group this situation may be comparable to, they have total right to work on their solo projects and I don’t oppose to that in any way. The thing is, on these situations, labels should try and create some balance between things because that’s why they exist, that’s why artists need managers. However, all of it is pointless if things are going to turn out like this because a company can’t even do their job.

Here’s the thing: yeah, nobody is perfect. I KNOW that. buT ITS HONESTLY SO HARD TO BELIEVE BC HONESTLY IVE ONLY HEARD WONDERS ABOUT JOHNNY and like I’m just curious to see the real deal.

Bear in mind that one deserves an award for training at SM alone. Not for getting in – I’ve heard the criteria for casting isn’t as specific as people think – but for being able to survive there. A bunch have dropped out because they either couldn’t handle it or because they thought the wait for a debut date wasn’t worth it.

Here, take as an example this guy who started a thread on reddit after dropping out of SM. Hundreds of people asked him questions and I actually took the time to read through all the comments. His answers were mindblowingly clarifying and it really allows you to get a concrete idea of the trainee life at SM Entertainment.

Ahh seriously… Do you ever feel like your life is slowly becoming a K-Drama? Because SAME. Right now it feels like things around me belong to some messed up dimension between EXO Next Door, You’re The Best, Lee Soon Shin! and School 2015 with a hint of Descendants Of The Sun.

DOTS because of Kang Moyeon. That girl is literally me, I never thought I’d find a K-Drama character this relatable. We think alike 99% of the time and by now I’m sure her character is a Taurus like me look at me applying the small bits of the zodiac signs I know. She’s also a workaholic and, though I don’t have a job I have school, recently I pretty much breathe for school. Eat, don’t really sleep, study. That’s my daily routine lately.

School 2015 because school life is becoming more and more tiring by the minute. I don’t mean class-wise, I actually mean the overall time spent at school and seeing the exact some people. Everyday. It becomes exhausting when you go to the same school for five years. I also relate a lot to one of Eun Byul’s friends when it comes to future projects… I have 0 clues about what I want to do when I grow up.

You’re The Best, Lee Soon Shin! because while I’m trying to keep my mind sane I have a few hobbies, one of them being acting. No, don’t get too excited, I’m no famous actress here in Portugal, I just do a few appearances in soap operas every now and then. It’s good to earn your own money. Now, just like our Soon Shin, I’m a big ass shy/awkward/living meme. A couple weeks ago I shot a scene for an upcoming soap opera where I had two lines. It was hella simple. But little miss Cat had to go and goD DAMN LEAVE THE SCENE WALKING ON GHE WORNG DIRECTION. Only me. I can’t even describe the embarrassment that filled me in that moment. I HAD ONE JOB DAMMIT

Also EXO Next Door because GUESS WHO GOT HERSELF A COLD A DAY BEFORE HER BIOLOGY MIDTERM? CAT DID! Just like Ji Yeonhee, the tricky open window was letting in this killer breeze that eventually got the best of me. The difference between me and Yeonhee is that there is no way I could possible stay at home today thanks to that God damn midterm. Also, EXO isn’t living next door.

So yeah, I basically just revealed my life to you guys. You just combine these K-Dramas and remove all the boy drama tho I have it let’s be honest here who doesn’t I just rather not talk about it and that’s what my life sumes up to!

KAISTAL IS… REAL? – WHEN YOUR IDOL STARTS DATING

I know this is already old news for everyone but I still felt like writing a quick post regarding this!

The past 1st of April was quite crazy for a lot of fangirls out there. We all expected to be fooled by a bunch of jokes and pranks – including BTS’ Twitter account becoming dedicated to our 부산 남자들 (men of Busan) – more like 부산 아이들 (kids of Busan). We were quietly living our lives when the news about Kaistal being real started popping out of nowhere so fast we didn’t even have time to breathe. The truth is, the first thing i thought 0.3 seconds after I got my eyes on these articles for the first time was WOAH AMAZING APRIL FOOLS JOKE DO YOU THINK IM STUPID, I swear. And I kept that attitude for some good four or five hours until some people on my timeline started ponderating that maybe, just maybe, couldn’t this be true?

Turns out it was. Shortly after, the internet literally exploded with the news that SM Entertainment had indeed confirmed the dating rumors of Kai and Krystal. At this point, it was useless to stay in the stage of denial. It was time to accept.

Now, I’m only speaking for myself here, I have no clue how you guys reacted to these news. Frankly, It took me quite the time to take this in simply for the fact that I absolutely did NOT foresee this. It’s happening. That awkward-confusing-breath-taking moment you barely experience throughout your fangirl life unless you are very unfortunate – your idol is dating.

On the other hand, I kind of ship them… and with kind of ship I actually mean yAS THEY LOOK SO CUTE TOGETHER YES YESGVSDH THE SHIP HAS SAILED OKMFJDS confusing much? Let me get this straight then.

Bear in mind I am not particularly experienced in this, it’s not like my idols go around dating someone all the time. In fact, the only two times I went through this was when Harry Styles dated Taylor Swift and, most recently, Kendall Jenner. Either way, both where painful enough for me to have some saying on the matter.

When I first read the news about Kaistal not being an April Fools joke, i dropped everything. Literally. No, actually, literally, I was holding a towel I was about to hang on the clothesline and it fell off my hands. Holy shit. It was no joke, all the articles were true afterall. My brain was racing while trying to process this information and five hundred thoughts were going through my mind – I was experiencing shock. I wasn’t upset, or angry, or sad or anything like it. I was simply shocked and felt slightly oblivious.

As I kept thinking about the situation, I went back a few months, to when the photoshoot for the photos above happened and realized Kaistal wasn’t that unexpected for me afterall. The photoshoot happened around June-July, I hadn’t been into EXO for long at that time (about three months) and i didn’t even stan f(x) or SHINee yet. I remember how everyone was so thrilled over TaeKai (Taemin was also on the photoshoot) and how much they shipped TaeKai more than Kaistal. But to be honest, I remember seeing those photos back then and thinking woah how are they all so handsome? like, the three of them. Ahhh she’s so lucky. Aren’t they all from SM? I could actually imagine Krystal with either Kai or Taemin… But more with Kai. Doubt me if you want, but I’m 99% sure I thought about this. honESTLY IM NOT EVEN 100% SURE ANYMORE MAYBE MY BRAIN IS MAKING ME THINK I THOUGHT ABOUT THIS JUST SO I’D BE LESS SHOCKED WHO KNOWS – this right here, friends, is what I call experiencing confusion.

Whenever you are going through any kind of fangirling crisis the best you can do is talk it out with your friends aka scream it out with your friends which also works if your screaming is simply discussing the matter in caps lock on your group chat. We were all caught off guard with this, some more than the others as one of my friends is Kai biased :// but expressing our emotions and relating to each other’s points of view really helped calming down our feels. And eventually we were able to move to the final stage of reacting to these news. Not gonna lie though, As you talk it out with your friends and let out the thousands of thoughts that are going through your brain, you’ll all experience the most famous of all stages – denial – even if you’re willing to accept the news.

Lastly, what is more tiring for a fangirl than spending a few hours letting out her feels in constant caps lock? Not many things are. Gladly, me and my friends started to take in the news at some point and by the end of day I’m sure we all started to see the light at the end of tunnel, the last stage – acceptance. The are, actually, two different paths you can pursue when you reach the last stage – acceptance and rejection. The thing is, rejection only occurs if you absolutely do not approve in any possible way the slightest chance of the situation occuring and your brain is uncapable of conceiving the idea of it ever happening. Most of the time, people that choose rejection even unstan the artist.

Seriously now. Though I did go through all these weird phases, I was never sad or angry at Kai or Krystal. I was just surprised and caught off guard as I never thought too seriously about the possibility of this happening, but for SM to actually come forward and confirm the rumors it’s because this is serious. I don’t believe there’s the need to start with the cliché conversation that we are just fans and we have no saying in the choices they make regarding their personal life because everybody has already hear that and I want to believe you all agree the IT IS TRUE THAT WE SHOULDN’T HAVE ANY SAYING ON THE MATTER. So, let’s all stay in our lanes and support them if we actually care about them. And by supporting them, it doesn’t mean you have to ship them, just respect their decision!

What the hell. Seriously.

I don’t know what to do anymore guys, honestly. As much as I try to kind of hide myself from new artists, I SWEAR they come after me and brain-wash me into staning them.

If you’re familiar with the K-Pop industry, you should know it never stops. There are literally so many artists working non-stop all the time. It is so diverse that it’s almost impossible for you to only listen to one artist or group, therefore, even if one goes on a hiatus, there’s music constantly coming out to fill our hearts and minds.

Many comebacks happened recently and I’ve barely managed to keep up with all of them. A couple days ago, here I was catching up with the new stuff when I came across Boys Republic. Eh, the concept seems cool, I thought.

LMAO.

So I decided to watch their most recent MV for the song Get Down – click here to watch it. I wasn’t particularly familiar with them as all I’ve seen of them was a couple of performances when their song Hello came out last summer. The only member I knew was Suwoong because of that selca he took with Jungkook during last year’s ISAC.

I didn’t have high expectations before I watched the MV, I never do when it’s an artist I’m watching for the first time – regardless of the music genre, only GOD knows why.

Of course it’s too soon to say I have a bias but there’s always someone that catches my eye – or ear – at first sight – or listen. Just now I’m noticing, most of my bias have a very distinct voice from the other members – not better nor worse, just distinct to my ear. After I’ve gotten over how damn good the choreography is and how hella handsome theY ALL ARE, I was listening to the song again and one of the first voices really caught my attention… Now, this is what those websites with color coded lyrics are for. At this point I’m not sure if this post is a review of all sorts because most of the text is in caps and all… But on a serious note here, I listened to their other songs and it’s impossible not to admit they are talented. I’ve also watched some reactions on youtube and I noticed some people who have staned them for longer were saying they’ve never had a concept like the one for this mini-album. The song is indeed really, really, really good. The overall concept… IM SOLD

I’m gonna keep my eye on these boys from now on and I’m excited to see what is still to come by Boys Republic!

THIRD TERM, HERE WE GO

Hey there!

Today was the first day of school after spring break…  why does time fly? (╥﹏╥) Though I’ve only got two months of school ahead, it’s going to be tough because of the midterms and final exams. First midterm is next week! It’s going to be crazy and I’ll probably won’t be able to post much… Aish, I just want summer break to come fast so I can ACTUALLY rest.

I also won’t be able to write today’s birthday posts… Still, wishing Austin, Jiho, Eunhyuk and Kong Hyo Jin a sweet and awesome birthday near their loved ones~~

Can you believe I just got home from school and I already have a project plan for Philosophy and a Math work sheet to turn in tomorrow? My math teacher also dated a test on mY BIRTHDAY FFS AHHHH
