Today is Lee Sunmi’s 25th birthday (26th in korean age). Sunmi used to be a member of the korean girl group Wonder Girls (they were under JYP Entertainment) in which she was a main vocalist and bassist.
Sunmi also has her solo discography which includes the EP Full Moon – LEGENDARY may I say – and the single 24 Hours. She also composed a couple songs for one of Wonder Girls’ last albums – Rewind and Faded Love, both in album Reboot.
It’s very sad to think about Wonder Girls’ disbandment, however I hope to get to enjoy more of Sunmi’s music in the future♥
I’ll leave you with the MV for the song 보름달 an absolute BOP
Happy birthday to my dear bias and twin Sunmi hehe ♥
Today is Jinwoon’s 26th birthday (27th in korean age). He is a member of the korean ballad group 2AM – they debuted in 2008 with the title track 이노래 (This Song), a classic up to this day.
Fun fact: BTS’ Jungkook sang this song in his autidion for Superstar K3. You can check out the song and Jungkook’s audition below:
If you’ve ever heard of 2AM, you probably have a few questions regarding what happened to them as a group and which agency they’re under. Allow me to enlight you.
2AM debuted under JYP Ent., however, short after they decided to go under BigHit Ent. After their contract ended (about 4 years later) they decided to go back to their origins and sign with JYPE again. Now, supposdely, the overall group project is still under JYPE, but since their last comeback, in 2014, all members have signed with different agencies, except for Jo Kwon. There was never any announcement on their disbandment though.
Now, about JINWOON. He’s not only a talented singer, but also an actor. He has been in several dramas including DreamHigh, Marriage NotDating, Madame Antoine and Dream High 2 – where he made his official acting debut and played one of the lead roles Jin Yujin – hilarious one if you ask me, but also lowkey annoying. In fact, Dream High 2 screamed JYPE tbh lol, Jinwoon and Jaebum were the main leads, Jinyoung was the frustrated teenager and even Nayeon got a chance of a cameo.
Hope you know a bit more about Jinwoon now and that you’ll show him lots of love today! Again, he holds a special place in my heart because he is one of my twinsies♥Happy birthday~~
Today is BamBam’s (aka Kunpimook Bhuwakul) 20th birthday (21st in korean age). He is a member of the korean boy group GOT7 (they are under JYP Entertainment) in which he is a lead rapper and lead dancer.
I’ll assume 99% of you already know GOT7.. so there’s no real need to go into facts about BamBam, right?
Well, if you’re part of the other 1%, here’s what you should know about BamBam:
He is from Thailand
He is friends with BLACKPINK’s Lisa since childhood
He dabs every morning when he wakes up
He’s a skinny ass noodle
He is a cute lil shit and of my special sunshines in K-Pop because he is one of my twinsies ♥
Fun fact: He shares his birthday with his mother!
I hope BamBam spends a wonderful day near his hyungs and wild dongsaeng Yugyeom~~All the love!
I’ll leave you with GOT7’s latest release~ have a nice week^^
Today is Shim Hongseob’s 18th birthday (19th in korean age). He is a member of the korean boy group 24K (they are under Choeun Entertainment) in which he is a vocalist, lead dancer, rapper and maknae.
Hongseob debuted last year, along with member Changsun with 24K’s first release in 2016 – the track Still 24K. They weren’t part of the original line-up. After members Daeil and Sungoh went on hiatus, Changsun and Hongseob were added to keep a 7-member line-up. Later that year, 24K released FINALLY their 1st full-length album The Real One featuring the title track BINGO.
Check out the music videos below!
Happy birthday to our sweet, sweet maknae! 24K is currently in Warsaw, Poland for the 4th show in their Europe Tour Still With 24U. Hope Hongseob spends a lovely day there!
Wish them all the luck for their upcoming events and can’t wait to see them live in 2 days here in Lisbon omgjsfJHDFKJD
Surprise Surprise, thought you’d seen the last of 2NE1 didn’t you?
2NE1 are coming back for their definite last release GOOD BYE. The song is finished and the MV has been filmed already.
However, this is not as pretty as it seems. Apparently, this track GOOD BYE was originally supposed to be CL’s new US release. Though this is just rumor, there is already loads of people commenting it.
Personally, I hope this is only a rumor indeed. I think it’s great that they are getting together one last time to gift this to their fans, but if that’s the story behind the song, doesn’t it brush off the whole special meaning of this?
Regardless, I’m excited about this upcoming release. Can’t wait to see what 2NE1 have prepared as a final gift for their fans!
This song Limitless is the title track for NCT 127’s – NCT sub-unit – most recent comeback. It is part of the album NCT #127 – LIMITLESS – The 2nd Mini Album.
Starting with the MV, which you kinda can watch here 😀
Nobody really knew what to expect, considering the messed up teasers, but the truth is, the MV was just as confusing. Apart from that, aesthetic 1000000% on point. Perfect balance between dancing scenes and actual mv scenes. The only thing I have to point out is the terrible distribuition of screen time. I mean, try comparing Yuta’s screen time to Mark’s and you’ll understand what I’m talking about
As for the song itself, HELL YES
Overall it’s such an amazing track I don’t even know where to turn. I’m not going to lie, I got a bit worried after Taeyong’s #2 teaser… I had no clue about the song and suddenly we’re introduced to that, somewhat particular, line in Taeyong’s rap with a, somewhat particular, vocal hum,… skill?
I love how in the song there are so many different moments… I mean, the song isn’t repetitive at all. It resembles the music video in a way that, there are no repetitive scenes. The overall theme is there and the song is consistent and well built, but it never gets boring and repetitive. Like I said, there are many different moments to it, making you feel differently about each one of them.
What makes me sad is that, with such a well-built track, whoever distributed the lines made a terrible job. Yeah, I know there are different roles to K-Pop members in a group, and normally who gets most lines takes less visible spots in choreographies but in this case it’s just too much.
Let’s look at Winwin. Yeah, he’s the main dancer and is often in the middle front, but throughout the whole song boy gets two lines which he doesn’t even get to sing on live peformances because of the audio effect. There is also Yuta, who gets one line, I repeat, one line. Sure, he gets to be in the middle aswell, but unlike Winwin who gets his fair share of screen time in the MV, Yuta barely even has that. Not even to mention JOHNNY. I mean, after all the hype I expected SM to be a bit more self-conscious and finally let the boy shine, but no, he got two lines. But hey, I’m already thankful for his debut.
There might be another way to interpretate this though, SM was defenitely aware of how much attention Johnny would get on this album and in order to balance that with the other 8 members, they tried to shift some of the spotlight back to other members.
However, Mark and Taeyong still got a heck of a lot of screen time/lines/middle or front spots in the choreo so yeah, there is still some work to be made.
In conclusion, I was absoluetely blown away with this track – as you might have noticed on the video – I noticed some major evolution since Fire Truck era and Doyoung has also improved a lot since The 7th Sense.
Once again I think I predicted a K-Pop event. Now I might just make a post begging for Hansol’s debut and it might just happen I mean WHO KNOWS
