READY, SET, ISAC!

Another year, another championship!img_20170106_090124

It has been announced that the 2017 ISAC are a go! Recording is set to happen on January 16th and airing date hasn’t been announced yet. Above are the groups scheduled to take part on this edition. Please note that I’m not sure if this is the final line-up.

I was looking forward to see KARD… Guess these co-ed kings and queens still have a few things to overcome… BUT THEY WILL GET THERE

Just one question… is ALL of NCT going to take part in this? I mean NCT U has what 6 members? Uhhh Taeil, Taeyong, Ten, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Mark. Yeah 6. Then it’s NCT 127 whis has 9 members but you gotta exclude Taeil, Taeyong, Jaehyun, Doyoung and Mark which make 5 so, 4 members. NCT Dream is 7 members but excluding  Mark and Haechan its only 5 so there are 15 members… Eh now that I did the math it’s not such an extraordinary number but it’ll probably only be NCT 127 or perhaps NCT 127 + NCT U. I don’t see NCT Dream taking part in this, SM likes to keep the kids in the dungeon. We’ll see though! Are you excited about this year’s ISAC?

Check out my posts about past years’ ISACs!

OH

MY

ASDFGHJKKL

ok sry im ok

NOT

This was me less than 2 months ago

BUT NOW HERE WE ARE OMGNG

Alright, on to the review!

This song Limitless is the title track for NCT 127’s – NCT sub-unit – most recent comeback. It is part of the album NCT #127 – LIMITLESS – The 2nd Mini Album.

Starting with the MV, which you kinda can watch here 😀

Nobody really knew what to expect, considering the messed up teasers, but the truth is, the MV was just as confusing. Apart from that, aesthetic 1000000% on point. Perfect balance between dancing scenes and actual mv scenes. The only thing I have to point out is the terrible distribuition of screen time. I mean, try comparing Yuta’s screen time to Mark’s and you’ll understand what I’m talking about

As for the song itself, HELL YES

Overall it’s such an amazing track I don’t even know where to turn. I’m not going to lie, I got a bit worried after Taeyong’s #2 teaser… I had no clue about the song and suddenly we’re introduced to that, somewhat particular, line in Taeyong’s rap with a, somewhat particular, vocal hum,… skill?

I love how in the song there are so many different moments… I mean, the song isn’t repetitive at all. It resembles the music video in a way that, there are no repetitive scenes. The overall theme is there and the song is consistent and well built, but it never gets boring and repetitive. Like I said, there are many different moments to it, making you feel differently about each one of them.

What makes me sad is that, with such a well-built track, whoever distributed the lines made a terrible job. Yeah, I know there are different roles to K-Pop members in a group, and normally who gets most lines takes less visible spots in choreographies but in this case it’s just too much.

Let’s look at Winwin. Yeah, he’s the main dancer and is often in the middle front, but throughout the whole song boy gets two lines which he doesn’t even get to sing on live peformances because of the audio effect. There is also Yuta, who gets one line, I repeat, one line. Sure, he gets to be in the middle aswell, but unlike Winwin who gets his fair share of screen time in the MV, Yuta barely even has that. Not even to mention JOHNNY. I mean, after all the hype I expected SM to be a bit more self-conscious and finally let the boy shine, but no, he got two lines. But hey, I’m already thankful for his debut.

There might be another way to interpretate this though, SM was defenitely aware of how much attention Johnny would get on this album and in order to balance that with the other 8 members, they tried to shift some of the spotlight back to other members.

However, Mark and Taeyong still got a heck of a lot of screen time/lines/middle or front spots in the choreo so yeah, there is still some work to be made.

In conclusion, I was absoluetely blown away with this track – as you might have noticed on the video – I noticed some major evolution since Fire Truck era and Doyoung has also improved a lot since The 7th Sense.

Once again I think I predicted a K-Pop event. Now I might just make a post begging for Hansol’s debut and it might just happen I mean WHO KNOWS

🎁 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YURI UNNI

December 5th, it’s SNSD’s Yuri‘s birthday 😀

fotografia-7

Today is Kwon Yuri’s 27th birthday (28th in korean age). Yuri is a member of the korean girl group Girls’ Generation aka SNSD (소녀시대 – Sonyeosidae) (they are under SM Entertainment) in which she is a vocalist and lead dancer.

If you asked me to describe Yuri with a word, I’d say versatile! Yuri has had a taste of almost every area of the entertainment industry. Since her debut with SNSD in 2007, she has worked not only as a singer but also as an actress, model, songwriter, TV host and even graduated from college.

She joined SM in 2001 through Casting System after achieving 2nd place in the SM Youth Best Dancer Contest. She trained for almost six years before debuting. She has released a few songs as OSTs, including Kkok for the tv drama Working Mom along with fellow member Sooyoung.

As for her acting career, she debuted in 2007 on the KBS drama Unstoppable Marriage. She later earned lead roles such as in Fashion KingNeighborhood Hero and will star next January on SBS drama Defendant.

She used to host MBC’s Show! Music Core along with Tiffany. Her appearences on variety shows also include Invincible Youth and Law Of The Jungle.

Yuri is also an ambassador of Chung Ang University, from which she obtained her Theater and Film degree.

Yuri is one of SNSD’s main source of positivity and cheer. She has this bubbly personality that can make anyone smile, however, she’s still responsible and likes to take care of her members~

Did you get to know Yuri a bit better? Happy birthday to SONE’s cute bunny Yuri ♡♡ Have a wonderful year ^^

TAE SPILLED THE TEA

This is really just a matter of analyzing the facts…..

You don’t need to know Taeyeon too well to know she’s the kind to lead a quiet life. In fact, you don’t need to know her at all because, even if she wished to go around wrecking performances at important awarding ceremonies and creating drama, SM Ent. wouldn’t allow that.

So for the past couple of days, there’s drama going on. On the past 2nd of December, 2016 the Mnet Asian Music Awards were held in Hong Kong. Once again, this was the stage for many amazing performances from both korean and international artists, aswell as practice venue for performances that never happened. The information got out ahead of time and, before the show, everyone already expected a Taeyeon x Wiz Khalifa collaboration, as this video showed them practicing See You Again at the venue, right before the MAMA.

The thing is, the performance never happened. A lot of people were confused as to why Wiz Khalifa ended up performing alone and so the guy decided to shed some light in the midst of the confusion.

It’s pretty clear he’s claiming she backed out of the performance because for some reason she disliked the idea of performing with him. He was also hella salty on other tweets regarding this issue.

Upon all this, Taeyeon had no way out other than explaining what happened. Here’s the translation of what she posted on her Intagram story

hbghjgh

The video above showed a snippet of the AR Taeyeon mentioned. It was originally posted by Khalifa’s DJ to prove that Taeyeon was indeed supposed to perform with him but what it actually proves is what Taeyeon said. We can clearly read on the file “AR Monitor”. The DJ only had the AR, Mnet only had the AR, therefore, without the MR, it was MNET WHO CANCELLED the performance.

Now, this is one plausible explanation. But things might be a bit more personal. After reading Taeyeon’s statement about the performance’s cancellation, Wiz Khalifa went and said Taeyeon had told him the previous day that she was at the hospital and after practicing, asked to be on a different stage than him and then cancelled. Tell me, where’s the sense in this? Because I really can’t see the benefits she would get from deciding this. Shit got real after Taeyeon learnt about this. Like I said before, she’s one to lead a quiet life but she definitely didn’t like how she was being accused of being unprofessional. She then shared on her snapchat how she never went to the hospital. Apparently what happened was that Taeyeon was left waiting for Wiz to rehearse until 1am and then went back to the hotel.

The speculation about why the performance was cancelled after all is going a bit overboard. Specially when Wiz Khalifa went with that “Never apologize for being yourself and never let anyone else’s self projection determine your worth“, Taeyeon antis began to bring up the dumbest reasons like Taeyeon seeking for Baekhyun’s attention – even though they broke up 874644145 years ago, or saying she’s racist – as if she didn’t know Wiz Khalifa is black waaay before MAMA, or even bringing up that she has been depressed before – which is rude and disrespectful.

Of course, I too don’t know what actually went down, but who really believes Taeyeon would back out just because? Where does that make sense? I mean, we’re not talking about some random rookie singer, this is Taeyeon. If she didn’t want to perform, why would she accept it in the first place? It’s actually pretty clear in the rehearsal video how she was giving her best. Does that look to you like someone who doesn’t want to perform?

Taeyeon has made many mistakes in the past, I’m aware of that. But this time I believe she’s not at fault.

WHAT ABOUT A MALE VERSION OF IOI?

You guys, I got news

101-finale-1-800x450

As 2017 approaches, we might be seeing the last of IOI, but we definitely haven’t seen the last of MBC and their experiement with 101 trainees. It has been confirmed that the TV station is currently in talks with several labels with a male verison of Produce 101 in mind.

With the amount of boy groups that debuted recently, it is unlikely that some of the big companies will take part in this project. In fact, SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment have already announced that their trainees won’t be joining this project, as expected – just like what happened on the first season. This could be a chance for smaller companies to show the industry their hidden cards. However, I believe it’s going to be quite difficult to come up with 101 trainees under labels willing to take part in this in such short period of time, as filming is set to start next January and airing time around February/March 2017.

I have to say, I’m quite excited to see how this will workout. More than I was before Produce 101.

WHAT ABOUT A MALE VERSION OF IOI?

KYUNGSOO UNDER FIRE

So it seems that D.O indirectly called Lee Do Yeon ‘ugly’……..

fullsizephoto773778

Recently, at the press conference for his upcoming movie 형 (My Annoying Brother) – lead actors consisting of D.O, Park Shin Hye and Jo Jong Suk – Kyungsoo was asked about the kiss scene he shared with Lee Do Yeon – you might remember her as the friendly ghost in Let’s Fight Ghost that accompained Kim So Hyun (Hyun Ji).

When asked about it, Kyungsoo replied something like “The kiss didn’t actually happen. It’s a relief.” He awkwardly laughed after saying this and instantly added something like “It’s a joke.”. Park Shin Hye imediately changed subject before he could add anything else.

Joke or not, it’s an bad thing to say. I love Kyungsoo but honestly I’m upset to hear about this. I believe it wasn’t his intention to ‘publicly humiliate’ Lee Do Yeon – like some people are saying – but he needs to be careful with this kind of puns because, of course, he will come out misinterpreted and the other person is bound to find it offenssive.

I support my idols throughout every hardship they face, but in situations like this I really just want them to apologize. It’s done, he can’t go back in time and correct it, but it’s only right that he clarifies the situation.

Some people, familiar with the movie’s context, are saying that the implied scene suggests an harassing situation, hence Kyungsoo’s joke. Regardless, he should have predicted the misunderstanding resulting from what he said.

Hope this issue will be solved soon.

WHERE IS JOHNNY FFS

HONESTLY WHRE THE HELL IS JOHNNY

This is super random, yeah, but a while ago I was studying for tomorrow’s test and suddenly SMRookies’ Johnny came to my mind and once again it hit me that the boy is still waiting to debut anD I GOT SO PISSED I DONT EVEN KNOW

Here’s the thing: yeah, nobody is perfect. I KNOW that. buT ITS HONESTLY SO HARD TO BELIEVE BC HONESTLY IVE ONLY HEARD WONDERS ABOUT JOHNNY and like I’m just curious to see the real deal.

Bear in mind that one deserves an award for training at SM alone. Not for getting in – I’ve heard the criteria for casting isn’t as specific as people think – but for being able to survive there. A bunch have dropped out because they either couldn’t handle it or because they thought the wait for a debut date wasn’t worth it.

Here, take as an example this guy who started a thread on reddit after dropping out of SM. Hundreds of people asked him questions and I actually took the time to read through all the comments. His answers were mindblowingly clarifying and it really allows you to get a concrete idea of the trainee life at SM Entertainment.

BUT LIKE BACK TO JOHNNY OK

I MIGHT EVEN DROP LEECHAIYAPORNKUL CHITTAPHON AKA TEN JUST FOR JOHNNY I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW ITS GONNA HIT ME WHEN H DEBUTS BC IM HONESTLY SO SHOOK RIGHT NOW

Therefore, here’s a Johnny aprecciation post. You’re welcome.

TAEYEON – WHY || INSPIRED LOOKBOOK

yesyeysyegdh

Hey hey, I’m back!

Just posted my very very very loooooong awaited Taeyeon WHY Inspired Lookbook!

I know you guys are probably getting bored of seeing me promote my YouTube channel here and for that, I’m sorry!

This video has a very special meaning to me though.

This is one of the things you only understand when you run your own YouTube channel… But to me, seeing this video online is like witnessing my child speak their first word LMAO. It took me the whole summer to put this video together. It started with planning the video’s structure in order to know where and what to film. I literally scanned my whole wardrobe to find the best fitting clothes and my friend’s wardrobe too hahaha. I watched Taeyeon’s music video countless times, I downloaded it to my phone and randomly watched it several times in a row, before and during filming, to get the vibe of the music video as accurately as possible to be able to transmit the same idea but with my own touch.

After filming I had to start this intense search for a better video editing program (because no way in hell Movie Maker would to the trick) and do I came across Wondershare Filmora <3333

When school started I was very worried because I started to have less and less time to edit and I wondered if I was ever going to be able to post this video, in which I had already put so much effort into.

Eventually, I finally saved myself two afternoons and TA-DA!

Please, show this video lots of love and maybe drop a like? Nevermind, if you can just watch it you’re already making my day.

I hope everyone that watches this video enjoys it, from the outfits to the editing and that this inspires your own personal style too! Thank you~~♡♡♡
