BUT NOW HERE WE ARE OMGNG

Alright, on to the review!

This song¬†Limitless is the title track for NCT 127’s – NCT sub-unit – most recent comeback. It is part of the album NCT #127 – LIMITLESS – The 2nd Mini Album.

Starting with the MV, which you kinda can watch here ūüėÄ

Nobody really knew what to expect, considering the messed up teasers, but the truth is, the MV was just as confusing. Apart from that, aesthetic 1000000% on point. Perfect balance between dancing scenes and actual mv scenes. The only thing I have to point out is the terrible distribuition of screen time. I mean,¬†try comparing Yuta’s screen time to Mark’s and you’ll understand what I’m talking about

As for the song itself, HELL YES

Overall it’s such an amazing track I don’t even know where to turn. I’m not going to lie, I got a bit worried after Taeyong’s #2 teaser… I had no clue about the song and suddenly we’re introduced to that, somewhat particular, line in Taeyong’s rap with a, somewhat particular, vocal hum,… skill?

I love how in the song there are so many different moments… I mean, the song isn’t repetitive at all. It resembles the music video in a way that, there are no repetitive scenes. The overall theme is there and the song is consistent and well built, but it never gets boring and repetitive. Like I said, there are many different moments to it, making you feel differently about each one of them.

What makes me sad is that, with such a well-built track, whoever distributed the lines made a terrible job. Yeah, I know there are different roles to K-Pop members in a group, and normally who gets most lines takes less visible spots in choreographies but in this case it’s just too much.

Let’s look at Winwin. Yeah, he’s the main dancer and is often in the middle front, but throughout the whole song boy gets two lines which he doesn’t even get to sing on live peformances because of the audio effect. There is also Yuta, who gets¬†one line, I repeat,¬†one line. Sure, he gets to be in the middle aswell, but unlike Winwin who gets his fair share of screen time in the MV, Yuta barely even has that. Not even to mention JOHNNY. I mean, after all the hype I expected SM to be a bit more self-conscious and finally let the boy shine, but no, he got two lines. But hey, I’m already thankful for his debut.

There might be another way to interpretate this though, SM was defenitely aware of how much attention Johnny would get on this album and in order to balance that with the other 8 members, they tried to shift some of the spotlight back to other members.

However, Mark and Taeyong still got a heck of a lot of screen time/lines/middle or front spots in the choreo so yeah, there is still some work to be made.

In conclusion, I was absoluetely blown away with this track Рas you might have noticed on the video РI noticed some major evolution since Fire Truck era and Doyoung has also improved a lot since The 7th Sense.

Once again I think I predicted a K-Pop event. Now I might just make a post begging for Hansol’s debut and it might just happen I mean WHO KNOWS

REVIEW | NCT 127 “LIMITLESS” COMEBACK – LITERALLY [UPDATED]

TAE SPILLED THE TEA

This is really just a matter of analyzing the facts…..

fotografia-8

You don’t need to know Taeyeon too well to know she’s the kind to lead a quiet life. In fact, you don’t need to know her at all because, even if she wished to go around wrecking performances at important awarding ceremonies and creating drama, SM Ent. wouldn’t allow that.

So for the past couple of days, there’s drama going on. On the past 2nd of December, 2016 the¬†Mnet¬†Asian¬†Music¬†Awards were held in Hong Kong. Once again, this was the stage for many amazing performances from both korean and international artists, aswell as practice venue for performances that never happened. The information got out ahead of time and, before the show, everyone already expected a Taeyeon x Wiz Khalifa collaboration, as this video showed them practicing¬†See You Again at the venue, right before the MAMA.

The thing is, the performance never happened. A lot of people were confused as to why Wiz Khalifa ended up performing alone and so the guy decided to shed some light in the midst of the confusion.

It’s pretty clear he’s claiming she backed out of the performance because for some reason she disliked the idea of performing with him. He was also hella¬†salty on other tweets regarding this issue.

Upon all this, Taeyeon had no way out other than explaining what happened. Here’s the translation of what she posted on her Intagram story

hbghjgh

The video above showed a snippet of the AR Taeyeon mentioned. It was originally posted by Khalifa’s DJ to prove that Taeyeon was indeed supposed to perform with him but what it actually proves is what Taeyeon said. We can clearly read on the file “AR Monitor”. The DJ only had the AR, Mnet only had the AR, therefore, without the MR, it was MNET WHO CANCELLED the performance.

Now, this is one plausible explanation. But things might be a bit more personal. After reading Taeyeon’s statement about the performance’s cancellation, Wiz Khalifa went and said Taeyeon had told him the previous day that she was at the hospital and after practicing, asked to be on a different stage than him and then cancelled. Tell me, where’s the sense in this? Because I really can’t see the benefits she would get from deciding this. Shit got real after Taeyeon learnt about this. Like I said before, she’s one to lead a quiet life but she definitely didn’t like how she was being accused of being unprofessional. She then shared on her snapchat how she never went to the hospital. Apparently what happened was that Taeyeon was left waiting for Wiz to rehearse until 1am and then went back to the hotel.

The speculation about why the performance was cancelled after all is going a bit overboard. Specially when Wiz Khalifa went with that “Never apologize for being yourself and never let anyone else’s self projection determine your worth“, Taeyeon antis began to bring up the dumbest reasons like Taeyeon seeking¬†for Baekhyun’s attention – even though they broke up 874644145 years ago, or saying she’s racist – as if she didn’t know Wiz Khalifa is black waaay before MAMA, or even bringing up that she has been depressed before – which is rude and disrespectful.

Of course, I too don’t know what actually went down, but who really believes Taeyeon would back out just because? Where does that make sense? I mean, we’re not talking about some random rookie singer, this is Taeyeon. If she didn’t want to perform, why would she accept it in the first place? It’s actually pretty clear in the rehearsal video how she was giving her best. Does that look to you like someone who doesn’t want to perform?

Taeyeon has made many mistakes in the past, I’m aware of that. But this time I believe she’s not at fault.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I’m sorry.

Before I even start, click here for NCT U’s MV for the song¬†The 7th Sense.

Alright. So, It’s been quite a while since it was announced that SM Rookies were FINALLY going to debut. From that moment I started preparing myself mentally. Yes, I needed preparation, they’re a group under SM Ent. afterall… Let’s be real, as much of a crazy that company is, they have never failed at debuting amazing artists. I already knew I was gonna surrender to NCT from the start. I was right.

Here’s a tad more of info about these boys. I guarantee you they are no ordinary rookie group.

NCT is the actual name of the whole group; stands for Neo Culture Technology. By the time their debut was announced, some other news came along. The truth is, this group currently has a total of 40 members. Hold on, I need a sec.

SGHVBDUIGBIDUEGHAHSJKASAAJJHBJHJVHHAHHHHHHHH HEJNKLSDODV WHAGSTYDG HOW IS THIS POASSIVLE SERSIOYTLY

40 members. For now.

For now?

Yes, friends. For now.

I admit I’m not 100% sure about this information. Only¬†99.9%… simply because I find it hard to even conceive the idea of a boy group with 40 members.

Fear not! Lee Soo Man has thought of everything!¬†eh it’s not like that happens often . The group will debut by sub-unit, not as a whole. Meaning, all members are divided in sub-units from the start. That’s where¬†NCT U comes from, these six boys are only a sub-unit of this much bigger group. From what I’ve learned in every website, blog, vlog and fan account, though the group has 40 members at the moment, the idea is to add more as time passes if the group turns out to be successful.

With that in mind… things aren’t looking good for us, fangirls. Successful? If there’s something I’m sure these boys will be surrounded by is success. All I needed to deduce that was NCT U’s first MV¬†and a couple¬†videos from the SM Rookies show. They’ve got the talent and they’ve got the looks. What else is needed?

Knowing SM Entertainment, I was already expecting an awesome track for their debut, but¬†The 7th Sense literally blew me away. The song might be incredibly simple but it is also incredibly good. The choreography looks flawless aswell and I’m very excited to see their live stages. The MV was a huge truck of aesthetic and pops of colors. I LOVED IT

NCT U’s debut consists of two digital singles – another single will be released tomorrow (10th of April) for the song¬†Without You, this time sub-unit leader Taeil will be featured! – he wasn’t on¬†The 7th Sense. Don’t forget to check that out tomorrow!

I’m super excited to see what’s going to come out of this new project and I shamelessly admit I’m already staning them and possibly biased Ten…

What did you think of NCT U?

p.s.- uhh I don’t know much but I believe there have been some issues regarding member Taeyong in the past… I don’t want to get into details nor defend him nor anything like that. Anyhow, everyone makes mistakes and has the right to regret them so how bad could it be to give him a second chance? And even if you don’t want to, at least be here for the music. Even if you can’t accept certain things, it’s not wrong to accept their talent¬†(…Ē‚óĒ‚ÄŅ‚óĒ)…Ē ‚ô•

SEPTEMBER 14TH | CNBLUE “CINDERELLA” COMEBACK

10448759_893259137418579_8032672143657578832_n

On the past 14th of September, 2015, CNBLUE made their long-awaited comeback with the album 2gether which included the title track žč†ŽćįŽ†źŽĚľ (Cinderella). Click here to watch their MV for the song žč†ŽćįŽ†źŽĚľ.
The song’s lyrics express a man’s desire to be with the woman he loves however, she keeps running away. This is one of the things I love about CNBLUE, they are very skilled when it comes composing and I love how the words sound so smooth with the melody. I also find CNBLUE particularly special because they’re an actual band and not a boy group, which allows them to make more unique and pop-rock-ish tracks. Of course, non of this would be possible if it wasn’t for Yonghwa’s and Jonghyun’s vocals all the members’ talents for the instruments they play.
The music video is also very cute and quite original, I really like how it matches the story behind the lyrics! Don’t forget to click the link above the watch their music video!
This post is mainly about the title track but don’t forget to check out the other songs in CNBLUE’s album 2gether and show them lots of love~~

SEPTEMBER 8TH | RED VELVET “DUMB DUMB” COMEBACK

red-velvet-dumb-dumb-dumb1

Alright, 2015 was probably one of the best years for Kpop and as soon as Fall arrived it seemed like every company was unstoppable due to the amount of amazing comebacks and debuts that happened near the end of last year and Red Velvet sure made part of that.

On September 8th, Red Velvet made their comeback with their first full length album The Red with the title song Dumb Dumb.

Desregarding the not-so-happy things everyone¬†knows about SM Entertainment, we’re all aware that they’re not a company to slack on their artists when it comes to drop great that’s going to leave us all blown away, and Red Velvet are no exception. Just a year after they’re debut, Red Velvet were able to top the Billboard Charts with¬†The Red¬†and, recently,¬†Dumb Dumb¬†was the only Kpop music video to be considered one of the 10¬†best of 2015 by the Rolling Stone magazine, you can read the article here¬†(can’t understand how Drake’s Hotline Bling managed to beat it but oh well)

If you haven’t checked out¬†Dumb Dumb click here

There’s no doubt that this song became iconic, not only for Red Velvet but for Kpop in general. You don’t need to be a Kpop stan to actually like it recognize just how catchy and fresh¬†it is. Red Velvet’s lyrics usually stay in same subject however, it doesn’t make their songs sounds repetitive or annoying, in fact, each of them has become a hit so far and these girls sure have a bright future ahead of them. I really like how unique their concepts always are and I believe that’s probably why they stand out among all the other rookie girl groups.

Great job done with the choreography that totally matches the whole concept in general but of course, we didn’t expect less from them ever since¬†Ice Cream Cake – the other hit dropped a few months before¬†Dumb Dumb.¬†

The music video is just another aspect that makes everyone praise Red Velvet even more. I dare to say that if you watch it once, you can’t avoid to watch it twice. It’s very retro but also aesthetically pleasing and transmits Red Velvet’s concept really well.

I believe that at first people were probably a little confused about the group’s concept when they literally¬†jumped from¬†Happiness to¬†Be Natural. But then we were presented with¬†Ice Cream Cake¬†and¬†Automatic which are equally distinct as the previous ones and that’s how we can tell how unique they are. These are the reasons why I find¬†Dumb Dumb¬†to be a little of mix of both sexy and cute concept – kind of like how¬†Ice Cream Cake¬†was.

The rest of the album is definitely worth listening to, I personally recommend¬†Campfire and¬†Time Slip¬†(…Ē‚óĒ‚ÄŅ‚óĒ)…Ē ‚ô•

Tell me, doesn’t it blow your mind how talented these rookies are?

SEPTEMBER 8TH | RED VELVET “DUMB DUMB” COMEBACK

SEPTEMBER 3RD | BIGSTAR “FULL MOON SHINE” COMEBACK

Hey heyyy

Ready to go back a few months? This will be another post where I talk about important things that happened in the Kpop world quite recently that I wasn’t able to post about by that time. In fact, all posts in which there’s a date in the title will be that kind of posts.

Read on!

Big-Star_1441162323_af_org

On the past September 3rd, Bigstar dropped their 3rd Mini Album entitled Shine A Moonlight.

I’m going to be honest here, I didn’t really know about their existance untill¬†Full Moon Shine (the title song of their mini album) came out and they started promoting it¬†by performing on music shows. But I’m sure it was only because I haven’t been into Kpop for that long by the time and this was their first comeback after quite the hiatus.

The truth is, as soon as I heard the damn song for the first… it legit BECAME MY JAM OHMYGOD. (Putting aside the poor grammar on their mini album title because that’s not going to state wether they have talent or not) I can’t even put into words how frustrated¬†I feel because Bigstar are so. damn. UNDERrated.

Full Moon Shine is definitely one of my favorite songs from 2015. Have you heard it yet? If not, click here

The song is pretty simple, but it’s also interesting. It’s not very uptempo but it’s still catchy. The lyrics are also pretty good and I think people who usually pay a little more attention to them should go google the lyrics for this song. ALSO, since it’s quite a slow song, their voices sound soooo soothing asdfghjkl

I wasn’t amazed by the choreo for the title track¬†but I believe there wasn’t much they could do with a slow song. What I mean is, the fact that the song’s a little slow, they weren’t able to work on some awesome uptempo choreo¬†(because they totally can, they are also talented in that way) however, both the song and the choreo are good regardless.

As for the music video, well, they clearly didn’t put much thought into it either. It’s not their best MV nor is it my favorite, it’s… quite plain, but it’s still nice. Once again, I think in this aspect the song itself didn’t really help.

The rest of the mini album… well, I promise you every track is LIT, speacially if you’re one for the hip hop/R&B-ish kind of Kpop (of course, each person’s¬†music taste¬†varies but still) go check it out and show Bigstar some love~~

I’m not saying they’re the best artists out there, but they sure are far more talented than most people think and they deserve way more recognition. I’ve noticed that some people don’t like them because of something to do with the CEO of their company who is also their producer and has produced a whole bunch of hits for other artists… but I don’t really know why that has to do with them. Anyone knows anything about this? If yes, please comment because I’d like to know.

With that, I want to ask you not to jugde an artist based on random issues regarding their CEO, or company or random rumors because we’re never really aware of how things go down on the backstage if you know what I mean… But we all know the Kpop industry is hella tough and I’m sure all¬†idols work their asses off to always present an amazing show and please their fans so, please, always support your faves through the hard times if you truly trust them¬†‚ô•

What are your thoughts on Bigstar? What did you think about Full Moon Shine? Tell me in the comments below!
